…and that’s from running head-first into this the last month of the year. To be honest, December always catches me unaware. Well at least it has seemed to be this way over the last 8 years or so. It will just hit me a week before Christmas, that “woah, this is the holiday season and I shall be jolly”, and then rush to catch up with all the end year preparations, which I never do of course. Cards will go unwritten, gifts forgotten and by the time I’m really ‘set’ to enjoy myself after all the running around, it’s all over. The New Year would have come and gone and we will be all back to the grindstone of work/school/life.
So while I’m just reeling from the fleeting passage of the Year, my birthday has to come along and slap me in the face in passing, like it was almost an afterthought. Sad to say any attempt to set up a party in remembrance also pretty much comes across like an afterthought.
Now with the added pressure of my reservist falling in the same week as my birthday, it just adds another level of preparations to take care of that it also subjected to the limitations of human labour mentality versus Yew logs i.e. alot of people/business slow down or even close during the holiday period, which has the unique ability to somehow just give the people who still have to work, just more pressure as colleagues go on vacation and last minute year end activities need addressing.
Heh. Yeah…this post is a total rant. Looks like I’m turning Scrooge again. Bah. Humbug.
Still in the process of back-dating some other post, so don’t be surprised if the empty spaces in last month slowly gets filled up.
