Yes. Long stretch of non-postness. And with hardly an excuse since this is still the Festive/Holiday season and therefore should have some degree of slackness when it comes to work.
However it seems like this has become a double-edged sword; For IT companies, the same degree of support is expected during this time even when they don’t have the manpower or patience to respond or react to inquires and instructions. This causes a significantly high level of stress at my workplace. Ontop of the level generated by normal manpower limitations as people take leave, fall sick or go on course.
Of course all this can be attibuted to the part and parcel of working life, but I honestly say that I only added on to it by being thrown for a loop due to my lack of participation for a week. I came back and started making silly mistakes that I had learnt against, but had not yet ingrained from routine. One major one that did happen was the cause of a week long fingernail-biting feast that I’m actually glad for another long holiday, work-zone distruption or not.
Thank goodness for the good things about Festive work season such as the reduced workload. However this one point is more than easily made up for by the sheer depth that a few cases can have, stretching them to overgrown (overblown?) proportions.
