For all those that had celebrated, Happy 4th of July weekend. Hopefully you would have recovered from your food comas by now.
Over on my side of the planet, preparations for our own nation-wide celebration next month are moving into full swing. Flags are even starting to be flown from houses, which is kinda unusual since non-state buildings are not allowed to fly the flag other times of the year and it seems a little early to start flying them now.
Strange as may seem, our National (Independence) Day doesn’t seem to involve the partaking of large amounts of gastromical treats. Considering the fact that everything else in our culture seems to involve stuffing one’s face, it does seem odd that the one holiday that transcends Race and Religion in a multi-racial society seems to leave eating out. The way I see it, if there is one thing that every Singaporean can agree on, is that food needs to be eaten, eaten often and in as wide a variety as possible.
Hmm. I believe this requires more pondering…perhaps over a hot place of Chicken rice…yes that does sound good…mmmm….what was I suppose to be thinking about again?

I’m hungry jim. Gym?
