Came across this article on my usual news run on the Net, and since it’s somewhat similar to an earlier article I had put up here, I figured it would be worth checking out.
Of course one has to realise that this kind of “study” is nowhere scientific and is all trend-spotting. Don’t see how using celebrities as examples helps to vaildate personal taste. And what is with this crap getting such attention nowadays anyway? Don’t they realise that if nerds/geeks become more popular, we can’t technicaly be called geeks/nerds anymore and then we would lose that popularity and just become another normal group of guys?
I’m somewhat joking of course. Any kind of recognition is good. And while I may not be a fan of the show, I have to admit that having a mostly accurate portrayal of geeks on the OC does help.
