…actually it started yesterday but whatever.
Finally finished the 3-week long intensive module that I have mentioned before. Won’t go into any details, but just to say that I’m glad that it’s over. I’m pretty sure most of my coursemates are much more joyful than I am since, with the end of this module, they would have effectively finished the whole course. I am on a different course track from the most of them and because of other things out of my control, so it’s not over for me yet.
So we went out for dinner and sightseeing around the City Hall/Raffles Place area, which is a favorite of mine, but I haven’t taken the time to walk through recently. Was kind of afraid of what memories the area might drudge up as Ebb Tide and myself used to romp around there back in the day.
Anyway, Mrv brought along his camera and tripod so we where making like tourists and taking dumb photos at popular tourists traps around the area. Quite fun actually has Mrv have been an amateur photographer since childhood and had this really huge and heavy digital camera that took fantastic shots. So he was quite receptive of my opinions on some of the shots, but I worry that if I ever want to continue on towards having digital photography as a hobby, I’ll have to buy a similar camera and I don’t think I’ll like having to carry something so bulky around with me all the time, just in case I find a good shot. Truth to be told, I hardly carry around my digital camera anymore, it’s old and bulky but honestly, I think I’m too self-conscious to whip it out and try to frame a shot with people all over the place.
So it was pretty fun, with some wacky shots, and I didn’t have to worry about the memories so much. Sure they did come back, and sure they made me look back longingly, but I think it’s more of a longing for when next I’ll be able to make new such memories, instead of longing for the old ones.
Might think about getting a new digital camera too. Hopefully it’s something feature packed but still in a small form-factor and yet not appear too feminine.
Spend the next two days just resting up and having that family lunch for my birthday that was put off earlier. But I got to get ready to do some catch up on my other modules and get my stuff ready for a possible MOB next week. So best to enjoy what’s left of the weekend.
